I want to "play" with fletching my own arrows and Atl Atl darts etc.; Does anyone with chickens collect the feathers that would be applicable, or anyone have suggestions on where to get those? I could use duct tape of course, but want to try out some pine pitch glue and that's not needed with duct tape

Don't believe chicken feathers are going to work for what you plan to do. I've made arrows off and on for many years, and the feathers for them are larger than chicken feathers would be simply for the flight stability. You are most likely going to need something like turkey feathers to make this work for you. If you can't locate somebody in the group who has a turkey that can provide some feathers for testing, you could search out farms that raise them or purchase some at a local sporting good store (Cabela's, Bass Pro, Sportsman Warehouse, etc) you will find them in the fishing area with the fly tying materials. Hope this helps.
