That's no Mansion. For around the same amount of money I built this. 2 stories tall and two sides that I easily close access to when we get baby chicks. So the big girls don't trample them.

Well RevG III I would say for about the same amount of funds you did well. It's all about what works and what fits the budget1 Herbfarts

Yup, and I had a few more than 2-3 chickens in mind. I built the right half one year, then the other the next. Since I live in a H.O.A they have rules about no roosters. So replenishing the flock naturally was a problem. Hence the reason I made it so that I could easily separate the sides via a small gate inside . This gives the older hens time to see and hear the babies and vice versa while I slowly introduce them. Then once they become a single flock again they have the whole coop to run around in on rainy days. Most days though they are out free ranging in the yard.

Still say you did a good job. I enjoy having our birds out for a walkabout. Two winters ago we had two dozen roosters in our bachelor coup. was not that bad. Raise for the meat. Had a couple in with the hens to increase the flock going into the spring. Really have a lot of fun with them. Getting ready to start work on a new flight pen as we don't let them all out and about. generally a doz. at a time roam free. well i'm off to tend to chores. Later Herb
